When it comes to drinks I am ridiculously basic (or simple as some may say!) and un-knowledgeable (You'd think I'd know a bit more by now!? But hey!) so when Corby distilleries and The Glenlivet Whiskey approached me to work with them on having a little influencer whiskey tasting, naturally I took the opportunity!.. We consume so much everyday and when you think about it, do we really know about half of what we eat or drink? I don't know about you but I think it's really important to know about what goes into your system and if it's got a great history? Hey, added treat! So that's exactly what we did last week at The Caledonia here in Toronto. I invited a few of my favorite bloggers in the city to join me for an early evening drink with The Glenlivet.
IN order to take this tasting to the next level, The Glenlivet sent their best for us, Frank Biskupek, Brand Ambassador to the brand graciously welcomed the group and made us feel right at home at The Caledonia! He gave us such a well oiled breakdown and history of The Glenlivet whiskey. I actually feel like I know so much more about whiskey in general because of how knowledgeable Frank was!
The Glenlivet is a PREMIUM single malt whiskey which was one of the first ever licensed whisky's which by 1950, accounted for half of all the Scottish malt whisky sold in the US, so needless to say this is some really good stuff! I have tried whiskey a couple times in the past but there were specific hints of flavor found in The Glenlivet which made it go down smoother and with a more refreshing tingle (with a little bit of my newbie throat burn!)
