The dog days aren't over for Givenchy-they're out in full force again, this time with dobermans in digital print-screened versions and snarling on tees, jumpers, and varsity jackets. Can't say I didn't see that coming. But nonetheless, Tisci has managed to make the motif fresh and interesting again by adding plaid to the equation.
Tisci tells Style.com that his pre-fall menswear “Is important because it is about iconic recognizable shapes, fabrics, prints, and looks. It shows this elegant man with strength who knows how to mix couture and urban street elements. He’s got the confidence to play with his own look.” And with PERVERT slapped on the back of one of the tops, Tisci definately has taken confidence in the direction he's chosen to go with the eponymous label. One almost forgets that the name represents one of the most prestige French couture houses in history. But with Tisci's HDG (Hubert de Givenchy, or House De Givenchy) homage on one of the button-ups, he makes it clear he hasn't at all forgotten about Givenchy's roots.
